#10 Englishman In Estonia - Some places to visit in Tallinn!

Today's blog is a little short, but I just wanted to mention some of the places I like to go when I'm in Tallinn. The following list is in no particular order but it does feature some of my favourite places to visit. There are plenty of places to visit that are fantastic, but these ones are definitely some of my 'go-to' places when I'm there. Let me know what you think of these places or anywhere you recommend in particular!

1. Pizza Americana

I thoroughly enjoying eating at this pizza restaurant. They have many disparate options in terms of toppings, two agreeable size options (medium and large) and they offer a varied selection of drinks. It's pretty cool that you can purchase coffee, beer, whiskey or soft drinks. The service is great in this place and they have several menus for different languages. I think the prices are pretty reasonable and it’s in a decent location within Tallinn.I'm not entirely certain why I like this place so much, but I think it's mainly down to the food and the service. I would definitely recommend checking this place out if you're in the area!

2. Hell Hunt

I visited this Estonian pub for the first time recently and had a great time. The service was excellent, and the staff were very attentive, irrespective of how busy it can get. Estonian beer is very good, and this pub has a varied selection. We also ate while we were there. I cannot recommend the food enough. Whether you’re looking for a light snack or a full meal, this place will not disappoint!

3. Café Mademoiselle

There are a few of these in Tallinn, but I especially enjoy going to the one located at the back of the Solaris shopping centre on the top floor. It’s a great location because it provides a great view, good - reasonably priced coffee and it’s connected to a book shop!. I like the way the café is laid out, and the coat hooks that are available for customer use are a nice touch.

4. Kehrwieder

I think this is my favourite coffee shop in all of Estonia. The location is perfect as it’s on the main square in Old town, and the interior makes you feel like you’re at home. I particularly like the window seats and couches that are there. They even have board games for customers! I haven’t tried that many things from their menu, but I can safely say that their coffee is excellent and their hot chocolate is very tasty!

5. Restaurant Vanaema Juures (Grandma’s Place)

This place is great if you want to get acquainted with what Estonians eat at home. I visited this place on one of my first visits to Estonia and loved the food. It has a nice homely feel and the service is very good. I think it’s very important to try the food of the country you are visiting, and not just go to the tourist spots. I feel as though this restaurant is not touristy, and instead offers a traditional dining experience.
