Grappler's Choice #26 - Jeff Hardy fantasy booking

Jeff Hardy Returns

After an awesome Wrestlemania show and an excellent Raw after Wrestlemania, I have become extremely excited about all the possible match ups and potential story lines that may now come into fruition. I always like to take some time to think about the best possible scenarios before I write these fantasy booking ideas. Often these ideas will come at random, and this one in particular came to me today after seeing Jeff Hardy return on Raw.

One thing I have noticed is that while Jeff did return with 'Woken' Matt Hardy last year, he hasn't consistently been immersed in the Woken/Broken gimmick. Yes, he was injured for a long time and this of course changes how the story lines play out, but that being said, even when he was performing with his brother during their return, we were mostly seeing the classic Jeff Hardy character we all know and love. I had considered the possibility of Matt Hardy, Jeff Hardy, and Bray Wyatt all coming together to form a new stable, but I honestly believe that Matt Hardy and Brayy Wyatt would benefit from a tag team partnership and perhaps a pursuit of the Raw tag team championships without Jeff Hardy, simply because it allows Matt Hardy & Bray Wyatt to continue growing this new partnership story (and potentially lead to a betrayal feud between them later down the line), whilst also allowing Jeff to get involved with story lines and matches elsewhere. You could even bring him back into the picture to save Matt Hardy (presuming that Bray Wyatt turns on Matt Hardy) and turn back into Brother Nero during the process. But I'm getting way ahead of myself here, so here is the fantasy booking idea I have for Jeff Hardy.

Fired from Raw

Yes, as I mentioned before, Jeff Hardy has returned to Raw, and we have seen a number of debuts from NXT stars, and the returns of Samoa Joe and Bobby Lashley respectively, but we also know that the 'superstar shake up/draft' is coming soon, meaning that more Raw and Smackdown Live superstars are likely to switch brands. I think this would be a fantastic opportunity for Jeff Hardy to return to the main event picture, by switching to Smackdown Live. I think the best way for this to go down would be if 'Woken' Matt Hardy and Brayy Wyatt turn heel and attack Jeff Hardy on an upcoming episode of Raw.

Matt Hardy could then cut a promo on Jeff, stating that he is 'obselete' and he no longer requires his help anymore because of his new alliance with Bray Wyatt. This could then lead to a match between Matt Hardy & Bray Wyatt vs Jeff Hardy and a mystery partner (not sure who, but perhaps it could be Curt Hawkins and this could play into his losing streak story line by him take the pinfall during the match, or by the match leading to a DQ finish, ending with Matt Hardy and Bray Wyatt destroying Jeff Hardy). The aforementioned match could have a stipulation such as 'if Jeff Hardy loses, he is fired from RAW', which then means that Jeff would leave Raw still looking strong, but in a controversial way that also gets major heat for Matt Hardy and Bray Wyatt.

Jeff goes to Smackdown Live

This is where it gets exciting. Jeff Hardy could then return after a month or so (perhaps after the Shinsuke Nakamura vs AJ Styles rematch has occurred, or when their feud is over) on Smackdown Live, and he could challenge the WWE champion to a title match. I am not sure if he should become champion again at this point in time, I guess that would come down to how it feels at the time, and if the fans are behind Jeff becoming champion again. In any case, some incredible matches could be made out of Jeff coming to Smackdown Live, and that's the most important part of all this, because we know that Jeff is an excellent professional wrestler. So there it is, let me know when you think about this fantasy booking idea, do you agree or disagree with my idea? and how would you book Jeff Hardy moving forward?
