Note from Christian: I had a great time speaking with John. Over the years, I've had a few therapists on the show, and it's always a challenging interview. The tricky part is getting them to share certain experiences without pushing them too much. I understand their legal and ethical obligations, so there are some things they can't actually discuss, but John was open and willing to help me provide a fuller picture of therapy from his perspective.
I particularly enjoyed the part of the show where we discussed whether or not he uses therapy on his friends or family. It has always presented an ethical dilemma to me, and I kinda see it as having a superpower that you should avoid using, or use seldomly.
